This Week at LBF

December 8th 2024

When we create a vision for our life that’s so strong, so connected and yep I’ll say it - extraordinary, it’s easier to have others support you and want to be a part of it.

How’s your vision going?

It’s taken me a few days to post this. I wasn’t going to be emotional for @elodieleith and her last week of school - after all it’s exciting.

Wrong.

What a roller coaster!
Happy
Sad
Proud
Excited
Nervous
Contemplative
The list goes on.

They say it takes a village to raise a child and it’s certainly the case when @lindfieldlearningvillage are involved.

That picture with that warm embrace between the head Stephanie and Elodie sums it up.

We took a chance on a new school to start year 8, and by new school, I mean new! One of the first kids to enrol and walk through the gates of a new way of educating our kids through the public school system.

Best move ever.

An extraordinary school with extraordinary teachers that have helped my daughter grow into an extraordinary young woman.

As for all teens, school is where so much happens, and for these kids much of those hard to navigate things were done in lockdowns. They did so much more than ‘manage’.

I could like most mums, write the A - Z of reasons Elodie is extraordinary, but I’ll keep my words simple. I not only love my daughter, I like her. I’m lucky to know her and so proud she is my daughter.

Their last week was full of laughter, tears, dress ups, pancake breakfasts, graduation dinner and deep conversations.

The next 4 weeks of study and final exams are all that’s left in this chapter of our lives. I can’t believe it. It feels like yesterday when she had her very first day at school.

I am genuinely excited to see what life has in store for my daughter and I can’t wait to follow her as she leaves her mark on the world.

From knowing the friends she has, the conversations they have and their vision for the future, I have no doubt that they will leave this world in a much better state than it is now.

Congrats to everyone who graduated last week and good luck for the exams.

It's all about progress, not perfection.

We often set unrealistic expectations for ourselves and strive for perfection. But in reality, perfection is subjective and unattainable.

Done is great!

Something not meeting your idea of 'perfection' doesn't mean it's a disaster!

We need to shift our focus from being perfect to making progress.

Taking action and getting things done is what matters the most. Don't be too hard on yourself when things don't go as planned. Instead, use it as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Remember, you are capable of achieving great things. Believe in yourself and your abilities. With hard work and determination, you can reach your goals.

Let go of the notion of perfection and embrace progress. Celebrate your wins, no matter how small they may seem.

So, keep moving forward and don't give up. You got this!

Do I have to work today?

Probably.

Sometimes Fridays can be hard, so slap on your face and get cracking!

It's easy to let the stress of the week carry over into the weekend, but it's important to take some time to recharge. You deserve to have a weekend full of relaxation and fun, so don't let work or other obligations get in the way of that.

Start by making a plan for the things you need to get done before the weekend. Prioritise your tasks and make sure you're not leaving anything until the last minute. By taking care of your responsibilities early, you'll have more time to focus on yourself.

Next, think about how you want to spend your free time. Maybe you've been wanting to try a new hobby or catch up with a friend. Whatever it is, make sure you make time for it.

Remember, taking care of yourself is not selfish. It's necessary for your well-being and happiness. So, take this Friday as an opportunity to get yourself ready and set the tone for a weekend full of positivity and joy.
